Join Ed Robb and Stephanie Lenkey Sunday, October 19, for an easy-to-moderate 4.4 mile hike along the Gill Trail south of Buffalo Creek. The trail climbs up a little over 500' then drops down to follow the South Platte River. This gorgeous canyon has amazing boulders, rapids, and scenery to spare, and maybe some wildlife to see, too.

MEETING PLACE: We’ll meet at the Morrison P&R to arrange carpools then caravan to Pine Valley Ranch. RTD Morrison P&R, 3485 S Rooney Rd, Morrison, CO 80465. It’s the northwest corner of C470 and Morrison Road. Take C470 to Morrison Road exit. Go west about 200' to Rooney Road and turn right. There is a Phillips 66 gas station at the corner of Rooney and Morrison Road. We will meet at 7:50am, depart Morrison Park and Ride at 8:00am, expecting to arrive at the trailhead parking by 9:00am. Hike will start at 9:10am. Please be on time. Please pay your driver $5 for gas.

For reference, take US285 southwest to Pine Junction. Turn left and go about 21.5 miles on Pine Valley Rd., through Pine and Buffalo Creek. Turn right into the Cheesman Canyon Fishing Access trailhead parking. Use the following Google Plus code in Google Maps:
