Join SOCO walk leader, Rae Van Seenus, for a morning hike at Monument Rock Extended Loop! Nestled in a southeastern pocket of Pike National Forest, this trail leads out to Monument Rock, returning on a different path to keep it interesting. The terrain is mainly packed dirt with some shade and a gentle incline.

Take I-25 to exit 158 for Baptist Road.
Turn west toward W. Baptist Road.
At the traffic circle, take the 2nd exit and stay on Baptist Rd.
Exit the traffic circle onto Baptist Rd.
Turn right onto Mesa Top Dr.
Turn right onto Lindbergh Rd.
Turn right onto Schilling Ave.
Take a slight left onto Nursery Rd.
Toilets at trailhead? No
Difficulty: Easy
Distance: 2.7 miles
Elevation gain: 259 ft
Dogs OK? Yes, well behaved dogs on leash.

1. Appropriate clothing for the weather.
2. Water.
3. Trail snacks (lunch if appropriate).
4. Sunscreen/sun wear/lip balm/sunglasses.
