In partnership with AdventHealth Oncology Services, we present "Walk with Us". This month we recognize Ovarian, Uterine and Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.

Join Blaine, Jan and Cal with the AdventHealth gynecologic and urologic cancer team for a Walk into Wellness. Team members may include a surgeon, medical oncologist, radiation oncologist, genetic counselor, social work, nurses, registered dietician, and/or physical therapy. This is an opportunity to Walk with Us and ask general questions of the cancer team. 

Description: If mobility-challenged, as you turn into the parking lot, turn left instead of turning right. There is a circle-drive drop-off and couple handicap spaces along with a few more spaces up the short hill by the old homestead (build in 1906 was once an illegal gambling house). We’ll meet at the large group picnic shelter by the small pond
next to the homestead and then go up a very short incline to the fine gravel trail along the canal. We’ll have foothill and mountain views from the cottonwood-lined trail and pass through the Wind Crest retirement village before we have the canal on one side and the University of Denver Golf Club at Highlands Ranch on the other. This will be
an out-and-back outing. This area does not have good options for much of a loop trail for wheelchairs other than the nice access to the pond and fishing deck. The canal is above the pond. The hill is very short but a bit steep. I’m glad to help.

Distance: 1-3 miles depending on the group’s input -- out-and-back along the canal
 

Elevation gain: Negligible once on the canal trail
 

Dogs allowed: Yes, if well-behaved and on leash
 

Toilets at the trailhead: Yes
 

Be sure to bring: Water, sunscreen, hat and desire to get out and enjoy nature.
