Join Blaine, Jan, Victoria, Jose and Terry for an easy walk along the Willow Creek Trail.
The South Suburban Recreation District’s Willow Creek Trail extends from C470 on the South northwest to Englewood Reservoir. We will start at Willow Creek Park near County Line Road and Quebec where there is plenty of parking and clean toilets. We will head west toward Englewood Reservoir and, if the group is energetic enough and the conditions are right, even go around it. The reservoir was built for flood control and therefore is kept empty but the resulting high water table supports vibrant wetlands, other riparian vegetation, birding and urban wildlife viewing opportunities.
Entrance fees: none
Distance: 1-5 miles depending on group’s interests (for wheelchairs or those wanting a
short outing, we’ll start with a nice loop along the stream and around the park)
Elevation gain: very little
Dogs allowed: Yes, if well-mannered on leash
Toilets at the trailhead: Yes
Be sure to bring: Water, sunscreen, hat and desire to get out and enjoy nature.
