Join Ed Robb for a moderate hike in Genesee Park up to Genesee Mountain. This hike is about 4.2 miles, 640' elevation gain. It is a moderate hike, with a steady, though not steep, climb up to the veterans monument at the top of Genesee Mountain. It’s mostly in the trees until we get closer to the top, then opens up a bit. It’s mostly downhill and wide open coming back to the cars. We will go slow and take frequent breaks, and we’ll snack at the top and enjoy the views. This is the home to one of Denver’s bison herds so if we are lucky, they might be in the meadow by the trailhead.

MEETING PLACE: Patrick House trailhead, 27460 Genesee Ln, Golden, CO 80401. Take I70 west to the Chief Hosa exit, exit 253. At the stop sign, turn left and cross over I70. Bear to the left and at the intersection turn left onto Genesee Lane. Chief Hosa Lodge will be on your right after you turn. Follow Genesee Lane to the end and the Patrick House trailhead parking.
