Maryland Mountain Gilpin Tramway
Public -by Ed Robb  |  Walk/hike

Join Ed Robb and Stephanie Lenkey for an easy hike at Marilyn Mountain Quartz Valley Open Space Park at Black Hawk. We'll do the Historic Gilpin Tramway Trail, about 3-3.5 miles, 284' elevation gain. There will be historic mining relics along the way to enjoy.    The trail is wide, not very rocky, generally exposed, with views of Black Hawk.

As always, Live By Living day hikes are open to all cancer survivors and their caregivers.  Regardless of whether you are currently in or out of treatment, we'd love to have you join us.  If you're uncertain whether you are physically up for a hike, please discuss your abilities with your doctor.

ake US 6 from Golden to Black Hawk, or take I70 to the base of Floyd Hill and exit to US6. Follow US6 to the traffic light at CO119 and turn left. In either case, follow CO 119 to Black Hawk. Drive through Black Hawk. The trailhead parking is about 1/4 mile north of Black Hawk on the right. You’ll cross under the pedestrian bridge for the trail just before the turn into the parking lot.
