Join Irene for a St. Patty's day hike at beautiful Point Alta Vista. Wear green and if the group wants, we could go out afterwards.

Distance: mostly flat 2 miles round trip. Spectacular views of the Royal Gorge, and an opportunity to walk on some restored train trestles at the end.

Difficulty: easy

Toilet: No bathrooms at the trailhead

Dogs: Leashed dogs are allowed

Maybe we'll see a leprechaun or two!

To reach the Point Alta Vista trail, take U.S. 50 west, turning south at CR3A on eight-mile hill toward the Royal Gorge Park. Travel 1.25 miles and turn right into the parking area. Look for the Point Alta Vista Trail map and pedestrian gate.
