Join Bob, Jessica and Steve for an easy walk, starting at the eastern terminus of the St. Vrain Greenway Trail east of Longmont.  We have enjoyed other sections of this 18 mile trail on previous walks.  This will be an out and back walk on mostly paved trail (some dirt next to the trail for those who prefer a softer surface).  We will start at the historic Sandstone Ranch Trailhead. The ranch was originally homesteaded in the 1860s, but of course the land was home to Native American tribes for centuries before.

NOTE:  We did this walk in January a year ago and it was beautiful, with bald eagles and other raptors, geese, etc

TOILETS AT TRAILHEAD? Yes, (San-o-Lets only in winter) at the soccer fields near the turnoff onto Sandstone Dr, and at Sandstone Ranch (trailhead).

ELEVATION GAIN: minimal

Dogs are NOT allowed on this section of the Greenway Trail (to protect wildlife)

Be sure to bring:

3. Sunscreen/sunwear/lip balm/sunglasses
