Date of hike: August 17, 2024
Meeting time: 7:25am
Join Ed Robb and Stephanie Lenkey for a special adventure to celebrate the Summer Get Out and Natur-ize hiking series. We'll drive to the parking lot at the top of Mt. Blue Sky then hike the remaining 1/8 mile, 70' elevation, to the actual top of Mt. Blue Sky, 14,177', to enjoy the breath-taking views, celebrate our accomplishments this summer, maybe see some Rocky Mountain goats. Then we'll drive down to Summit Lake and walk 1/4 mile, 50' elevation, to look out at Chicago Lakes, enjoy Summit Lake, and maybe see some bighorn sheep. Finally, on the way down we'll stop at the Mt. Goliath Natural Area, if parking is available, and walk the 1/2 mile, 50' elevation, nature trail to see bristlecone pines, some of the oldest living things on Earth, even older than Ed!
Because we have to get timed entry permits, we'll need to carpool and limit the number of participants to 15, and we'll need your commitment to participate if you sign up. There will be a wait list so if there is enough interest we'll raise the limit.
As always, Live By Living day hikes are open to all cancer survivors and their caregivers. Regardless of whether you are currently in or out of treatment, we'd love to have you join us. If you're uncertain whether you are physically up for a hike, please call us at 303-808-2339, and we can help you decide.
