WHERE: Castlewood Canyon Nature Trail, Castlewood Canyon State Park
DIRECTIONS: Enter the park on the East side off of Parker Road (Hwy 83), drive past Visitor Center to large parking lot for picnic area and trailheads.
DESCRIPTION: This loop trail is a 1.2 mile (flat, paved) walk along the rim of the canyon. Interpretive signs along the way describe the life of the canyon. Loop trail and connections to other trails give options for a longer hike.
ENTRANCE FEE: CO State Parks pass required, contact leader for options to carpool into park. You can also check out a CO State Parks Day Pass for free at local libraries. Day pass at the park is $10/vehicle.
DISTANCE: Minimum of 1.2 miles, options to do loop twice or explore off shoots of the loop.
ELEVATION GAIN: Minimal
DOGS ALLOWED: A registered Pet Therapy Dog will be joining us to share some love! Please leave your pet at home.

BE SURE TO BRING: Sun protection and water as there is little protection from the sun. Dress for the weather, trail has little protection from wind or precipitation.
