Join Katherine Dietterich for a scenic hike on the Cross Creek Trail to a beautiful rock overlook with views of the Gore Range, lush green valleys below, waterfalls, and happy trees. This hike has a section of stone steps with a rise of 4 to 12 inches as well as a small section of embedded rocks of all shapes and sizes. We will also cross a beautiful and well maintained bridge over the lively creek.  Live By Living’s day walks/hikes are open to all cancer survivors and their caregivers. Kids over age 8 are welcome.

Meeting place: Cross Creek Trailhead Notch Mountain  Rd #707, Minturn, CO 81645.  From the Minturn exit on I 70 Turn right on HWY 24, continue 5 miles through the town of Minturn. Turn right onto the generally smooth dirt rd ( Notch Mountain  Rd) and travel 2 miles. See small trailhead parking area on right. overflow parking on roadside or in small pull off across from trailhead.  High Clearance vehicle NOT required.

Difficulty: Moderate

Distance: 4 miles roundtrip

Elevation gain: approx. 650ft

Highest point: 9100 ft

Dogs OK? Yes, but trail is narrow and thickly forested in places. Moose Habitat.

Be sure to bring:

1. Appropriate clothing for the weather
2. Water
3. Trail snacks/lunch
4. Sunscreen/sunwear/lip balm/sunglasses
