Join Katherine Dietterich for a 5.4 mile hike to Mayflower Gulch and the Boston Mine District. There’s something for everyone on this high alpine hike-historic cabins, mining ruins, wildflowers, jagged imposing mountains, rolling green hills, giant rocks, streams, and lots of marmots! The first 1.75 miles of the hike are on a rocky forest service road that we will share with very sporadic 4WD traffic ( few vehicles can make it past the gigantic rut at the beginning). Once we reach the gate, the road is closed to vehicles and becomes a smooth hiking trail through the valley, past the old mining camp and up to the actual mine. Children over age 8 are welcome.
Live By Living’s day walks/hikes are open to all cancer survivors and their caregivers. Kids are welcome, too! Regardless of whether participants are currently in or out of treatment, Live By Living would love to have you join us. Questions? Contact us.
