Please see our website for details applicable to all retreats. Francie's Cabin is a beautiful, rustic log cabin located south of Breckenridge just below treeline in the Crystal Lakes Valley. Francie's sits at 11,264 feet above sea level. Francie's Cabin is owned and managed by the Summit Huts Association. It has 6 bedrooms (3 with 4 beds, and 4 with two beds) and sleeps 20 people total. One 2-bed bedroom is on the main floor and is ADA compliant. This cabin has indoor composting toilets and a SAUNA. There is no electricity, and no running water. You can read more about Francie’s Cabin here.
On Saturday, you will hike about 3.5 miles to reach Francie's Cabin, gaining about 1,000 feet along the way. (If you are unable to hike to the cabin, we can give you a ride in our truck). The hike usually takes about 3-4 hours to complete. On Sunday, we will hike to the spectacular Lower Crystal Lake, an alpine lake that sits below Father Dyer Peak. There's also an option for an easier hike closer to the cabin. On Monday, we'll have a relaxing morning before hiking back to the trailhead in time for lunch in Breckenridge.
In between all that hiking, you'll have lots of time to make new friends with people who understand the journey you're on and enjoy the solace of nature. We will also fill you with healthy, gourmet food to fuel your adventures and tempt your palate (we provide dinner Saturday, 3 meals on Sunday, and breakfast Monday.)
