This week we’ll have a visitor from California walking with us-Blaine’s son, Brendan is doing postdoctoral cancer drug development at the Stanford University Cancer Institute.
He looks forward to answering your questions on new approaches in the development of advanced cancer treatments. We’ll have foothill and mountain views from the cottonwood-lined trail and walk through the Wind Crest retirement village before we have the canal on one side and the University of Denver Golf Club at Highlands Ranch on the other.
Where: Flyin’ B Park, 2910 Plaza Drive, Highlands Ranch, CO 80129. Just South of C470 and East of Santa Fe Drive, but a bit tricky to get to. From Santa Fe Drive just North of C470, turn East on County Line Road. Take the 2nd right (South) at the South Park Circle / Erickson Blvd intersection. Go under C470 and take the first left (East) on to Plaza Drive. Go a couple hundred feet and turn right into the Flyin’ B parking lot.
If coming from East of Santa Fe Drive, another option is to take Plaza Drive west from Lucent Blvd.
Plus Code: HX6F+XPH
For the closest parking spaces, turn left as you enter the park and go up the short hill. There are handicap and a few more spaces by the old homestead (build in 1906; it was once a gangster’s illegal gambling house). We’ll meet at the large group picnic shelter by the small pond next to the homestead and then go up a very short incline to the fine gravel trail along the canal.
